Designed for: The Working Safely at Heights course is designed for students required to undertake working at heights tasks in a variety of situations, on and around various structures and in differing work environments including working near unprotected edges or slopes. The course is designed to give instruction on completing working at heights risk assessments, practical application skills and pre and post inspection techniques.
Language Literacy and Numeracy as required to work safely at heights in the workplace and complete workplace documentation.
Students must be physically capable of climbing a ladder safely maintaining three points of contact.
Description: This course gives both theory and practical instruction on Working at Heights applications. It includes risk assessment, pre and post use inspection of equipment, job step planning (JSA/SWMS) for various environments as per Australian Standards, Worksafe, OH&S and other statutory requirements, practical application of fitting a harness and attaching temporary static lines and hardware components such as karabiners and hooks.

Assessment: Students learning outcomes will be assessed using practical activities designed to simulate the work environment and written questions as appropriate. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment.
Delivery Method: Classroom theory via PowerPoint presentations, including audio-visual material, practical desktop activities and discussion.
Practical components using height safety equipment in a range of work simulated scenarios.
